Three goals against Parma not enough
The FIAT Cup will leave China and make its return to Italy. Alas not to Turin, though, but to Parma. The team from Emilia won the tournament in Shanghai, mostly thanks to the riveting draw they got in the last match against the Bianconeri. Juventus tried to win up to the last moment, and Ranieri's men were actually winning the trophy until just minutes before the final whistle. The Italian derby finally ended 3–3 and offered plenty of excitement as well as some great plays, such as Trezeguet's momentary 2-1 goal. Paolucci and Marchionni scored the other goals for Juventus. Martinez, Galli and Lucarelli scored for Parma, who then went on to win the game on penalties.
The FIAT Cup thus ended with Parma in front of everyone with 5 points, Shenhua second with 3 and Juventus third with 1. Most importantly, everyone at the Shanghai Stadium had a great time. Juventus’ evening, however, was unfortunately marred by Youth Team player Vecchione having to leave the pitch due to a knee injury.
