Everybody off to Asia and Australia in May
Looking forward to getting back to Europe to play the next Champions League, Juventus are getting ready to fly off to Asia and Australia first. Indeed today the “Costa Cruises Juventus Asia-Pacific Tour 2008” was unveiled in Genoa: a tour organized by MP&Silva that Juventus will go on after the end of the current League season. The schedule includes three stops with as many friendly matches, in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Melbourne. The Bianconeri go back to a part of the world where football is becoming increasingly popular and Juventus are one of the best-loved Clubs over there. They'd already played in Hong Kong during the 2005 Japan Tour, whereas they last played in Australia in 1984, during the Trapattoni era. Shanghai on the other hand is a pleasant novelty for them. An evocative adventure thus awaits the Bianconeri. And the location chosen to unveil the agreement was rather evocative too: Genoa's port, on board one of Costa Crociere's ships. Jean-Claude Blanc, Marco Fassone, Claudio Ranieri and Nicola Legrottaglie were there representing Juventus, Costa Crociere sent Pier Luigi Foschi and Gianni Onorato, while Riccardo Silva was MP&Silva's spokesperson on the day. Darwin Pastorin, a big name in Italian journalism, presented the meeting. Here follows a full schedule of the games that will be played and a brief introduction to Juve’s opponents. May 22 - Hong Kong Stadium: Juventus – South China FC South China FC are one of Hong Kong's most prestigious Clubs; they’ve won as many as 80 trophies in the 100 years since their foundation. May 24 - Shanghai Olympic Stadium: “FIAT Cup” Juventus – ParmaFC – Shenhua FC Shenhua FC play in the Chinese Super League, the equivalent of Italy’s Serie A. They have won several honours over the years, including Jia A Champions, the Chinese Super Cup, and the China FA Cup. May 30 - Melbourne Telstra Dome Stadium: Juventus – Melbourne Victory FC Melbourne Victory play in the Australian First Division and are the first club to have won the A-League Premiers and the Champions Cup in the same season (in 2006/07) Any information and all real-time updates regarding the “Costa Cruises Juventus Asia-Pacific Tour 2008” can already be found at http://www.juventustour2008.com/.
